Fortunately, when you are charged with homicide, you can have the best chances of winning your case. This is because the laws of evidence and Charter Protections are taken most seriously, by the courts, in the most serious cases. You always have a chance, to win your case, with a good lawyer. What you need is that good lawyer. You need a lawyer who has faith in you and knowledge of the fact that there is a defence and who has the experience to find it.
At Boggs & Levin we have experience successfully defending murder, manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, attempted murder and accessory after the fact, charges. We’ve represented both youth charged with murder and adults charged with murder; and again, both successfully. We have defended dozens of homicide cases, and we have the advantage of the experience knowledge and expertise that is gained from having defended each of those cases.
Our entire team will fight for you. There is hope. You have found it. Call us and get us working on your case. Homicide includes murder, manslaughter, and attempted murder.
We have defended all sorts of homicide charges: Young parents charged with killing their child; middle aged mothers charged with killing their babies; young kids killing a drug dealer, during a theft gone bad; neighbours charged with murdering the hated racist next door; the senseless killing of an old man in a stair well; a drug addict charged with killing his father because he didn't like his son's girlfriend; a taxi driver accused of ramming his cap into a bicycle rider, chopping off his leg; a gang murder over "business"; shooting at police officers and middle of the night home invasion, leaving a man dead.
There is always more to the story than shows up in the papers or on TV news programs. Each one of these cases is a tragedy. You need to talk to your lawyers, not the police. We have an adversarial system. The police are paid to build a case against you. Your lawyers are here to help you, out of your trouble. We are here to defend you. We are here to fight for you, your life and your freedom. Our extensive and decades long experience can help you. Call us 416.868.4529
SILENCE CAN SAVE YOU
You have heard that you have the right to remain silent. You do have the right to remain silent and you should use that right. This is the most important piece of legal advice that you will ever get and it is fee. Never provide any information to a police officer.
Understand that nothing you say will be used for your benefit. It will only be used against you. Usually the police tell you that anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.. If the police are talking to you it is because they want to get you to say something that they can use. If the police are talking to you they want you to talk because they need you to say something. Don't. The only thing that you should ever say to a police officer is: "I want to talk to my lawyer. I have nothing to say to you." Say this and only this over and over and over.
